as he’s been punished by his mother, a seven-year-old child vents his bad temper on everything that comes into his hands, and is being involved in a fantasy game where objects come to life and animals speak to make him become aware of his cruelty…

this version of l’enfant et les sortilèges, produced and performed by the music company les musiques à ouïr, is based on the work by maurice ravel and colette, reorchestrated for dance, choir, three singers, harp, accordion, woodwinds, ondes martenot, percussions, trombone and electronics.

the electronics relies on the electronic music instrument moulin à ouïr, designed by alexis baskind and elsa biston. it allows among others gesture-based live improvisation from the dancer on stage.
